6. Sonofdov - "A Boy's Lament"
from "(Previously Unreleased)"

sonofdov.bandcamp.com

New Jersey based indie singer/songwriter Dennis King aka Sonofdov first discovered music on his family’s out of tune piano. Growing up on hand-me-down vinyls and tough-skin jeans, King taught himself two broken chords and how not to play correctly.

7. Michaela McClain - "Some Men Need To Hear This"
from "Take A Chance"

Location: Montclair, NJ

www.michaelamcclain.com

8. Dub Proof - "Super Storm Dub"
from "Spider Mouse / Bee Sting Dub"

Location: Asbury Park, NJ

www.dubproof.com

If you took the conscience of Bob Marley, the funk of George Clinton, the boom-bap of classic hip-hop, and the abstract delays and reverbs of 70's dub reggae you'd have the recipe for Dub Proof's songs. While occasionally venturing into more psychedelic and jazzy territory the band has always emphasized paring rhythms down to their essence and staying true to what they believe is the root of music.

9. Shoobies - "Love"
from "Cherry EP"

Location: Bayville, NJ

www.shoobiesnj.com

Four best friends from the irrelevant suburbs of the Jersey Shore attempting to make melodic sounds. Shoobies began as an effort to escape the inevitable small town boredom, and blossomed into an all encompassing passion. Inspired by the dogmatic absurdities of love, flowers, and corny John Hughes movies, Shoobies is the aural embodiment of a bittersweet heartache. One can only attempt to describe this music as soft grunge, indie love-rock.

10. Moonroof - "Loosen Up"
from "Loosen Up (Single)"

Location: Philadelphia, PA

moonroofmusik.bandcamp.com

MOONROOF consists of four young lads who met in a Bloomsburg University dorm (and one extra-cool chap we met later). Originally called The Big Picture, we played acoustically at open mics for a few years before getting serious and moving on to bars and clubs like big bois. Now, we have set out on a journey to conquer the underground Philly scene... and eventually... the world. Come along and share the love.

11. The Fisherman & The Sea - "Stuck With A Rhyme"
from "Stuck With A Rhyme EP"

Location: Helsinki, Finland

www.thefishermanandthesea.com

After releasing their debut EP ’Beggar Princess’ in August 2017 to a lot of positive, reviews from the American indie scene – calling it ”gorgeous” (Lauren Gribble, ListenHereReviews.com), ”powerful stuff” (Lazlo, BlowUpRadio.com) or detecting ”so much wonderfulness about this EP” (Bob Leggett, LAmusiccritic.com) – The Fisherman & The Sea from Helsinki, Finland are back for more with their second EP ’Stuck With A Rhyme’ released December, 15th. It marks a distinct departure from the folk rock sound of their debut EP and introduces a wider array of musical influences to their sound, with punk, grunge and even some psychedelic elements added to the mix.
